Is this a good 4Runner to buy?

been lurking for a year but never joined till now, and i admit it, i come bearing baggage and questions.

This will be my first toyota vehicle, and i'm looking at this pretty face.

FOR SALE 2000 TOYOTA 4RUNNER 4X4 LIMITED

I've read the buyers guide front and back, so i hope i have a good idea what to see and care for.
3rd Gen 4Runner Buyer's Guide

also, i realize the vehicle doesn't have a picture of the engine, so i'll definitely want to look at that. I'm going to talk to the dealer about getting a carfax report as well and check for collision or other bad history.

finally, i can see what looks like the rear diff-locker just behind the steering wheel in the 6th picture (even though it's not listed).

still, i have to wonder, what do you guys think about it? is this the best price i'm gonna get? do you see or have any concerns?

on a side note, here in phoenix 4x4 and 3.4L setups are hard to come buy. i've only seen the locker on maybe 6 vehicles in the last year of searching.

Thanks in advance to any who offer some advice. I'm really excited about this one.

I'd hop on that one. Yes it has the rear locker. Looks real nice and real clean. Great price too.

Looks good.

Let me tell that's a good deal here in AZ, when I was looking for mine a few weeks back prices were up there but I was staying away from Dealers because of the horror stories. Most private party cars under 150k were well over 6500 anything under 6000 had 200k, worn and abused.

Spent a couple month before purchasing on the buyers guide and it was a gift and a curse. Damn thing had me worried about everything but sure helped when spotting some bad ones with hidden things.

If you get the vin send it out to me I can double check and see if I can get you a Autocheck.

Happy buying.

I'll definitely do that once i get hold of the VIN, and thank you very much for the info.

on a side note, funny you mention prices a few months ago. i almost bought a 4th gen but couldn't because of the price jump. fun times with supply and demand.

^^^ I agree. My last 4runner I found on craigslist after 3 months of searching in tucson. 2000 highlander edition with all the fixings, 87k miles, though I paid $11k for it. The one you're looking at sounds like a steal to me. Definitely check it out.
