Tundra limited slip?!?!
Anyone know if a limited slip differential will work in my 97' 3rd gen 4runner gen runner rear axle?

If you are looking for added traction while wheeling, a LSD will help if both wheels are on the ground. But if one tire gets light or comes completely off the ground, a LSD will do nothing.
Don't think of it as a soft locker.

I think the Detroit TruTrac will lock with one wheel off the ground if you apply brakes lightly (since that will cause the helical gears to engage). Don't know about this one.

LSDs will distribute some power to the non-floating wheel when the brakes are applied. An open diff will do the same too.
