Steering movement, help please.

Ok guys, I am not new to turning wrenches, but I need some help with my diagnosis. I am new to working on/ repairing r&p style steering gear. I have seen all the recent posts on ball joints and what neglect can produce. My LBJ's show no movement, but my UBJ's will be replaced due to ripped boots. I am feeling wobble in the steering wheel and can see left to right wiggle when I wrestle the tire.
Is there a way to determine ITRE vs rack guides, etc.?
Also, I know a lot of members on here are pro Toyota factory parts, but even with Camelback Toyota's online discount, they are $100 more each side.
Any insight on the cost difference?
Has anyone personally had success or horror stories with parts store ITREs?

Thank you all in advance.

iswing - If you are talking about "slop" in the steering wheel vs. actual steering movement, check / adjust the steering rack guide.
I replaced no parts, but did disassemble to have a look. When you check it, have someone inside moving the steering wheel back & forth. You'll be able to feel the play by holding the rack shaft (hold the drivers side rack boot) as the help saws on the wheel. I adjusted until that play was gone.
Good read here:

Thanks guys. I will pull the ITRE to see if it drops first, then check the guide. Lack of an assistant makes bumping the wheel while holding components difficult. You both have been a giant help.

Thank you.
