265-75-16 in factory spare mounting location?

Will it fit? I'm thinking it might be a clearance issue to the trailer hitch.

Does anyone have any experiences with this? Getting new tires in the spring and I'm on the fence whether or not I should buy 5 265-75-16s or if I'll have to stick to the 265-70-16 if I want to use the factory spare mounting location. I'd like to go with the larger size as it opens up the availability of LT rated tires but I don't want to lose my spare.

I was able to mount my Cooper STT (32" according to Cooper specs) spare. It was a tight fit between the hitch and the panhard bar. It touches the hitch and is 1/4" to 1/2" away from the panhard. At first it wouldn't fit, but the tire dealer had the psi higher than necessary. I aired it down and it fit.

You can always just deflate the tire to make it fit. It really depends on the true size of your tire.

I never considered that. I'd have to get an air compressor to go with it though! Spare isn't much good if it's deflated!

You should have a compressor anyway! It's cheap insurance if you just get a slow leak. Also a plug kit will come in handy.

So the 265/75/16s will fit on a stock height 4 wheel drive? Getting ready to buy some Bridgestone AT Revo 2s and wanted to go to the 75 series.

pretty sure that was stock tire size on the SR5's. Same suspension parts. I would expect it to fit without problem.

Stock size was 265/70R16. 75 series will fit lifted or not.

That's what i wanted to make sure of. I work at tires plus and compared them today and not a whole lot of difference in height.
