headlights won't turn off

I've had HID's for over 5 months now with no problems. My battery wouldn't hold a charge so I replaced it this morning with a new one. Now my headlights wont turn off after turning the truck off. I tried opening and closing doors, locking it and waiting, etc. Ill try ripping out the HID's when I get home and see if the problem persists using the regular halogen bulbs but in the meantime....has anyone had a similar problem or have any ideas as to what the problem is?

yeah unless you have a projector retrofit, take those damn HIDs out, they are silly, dumb and illegal to have.

-just a little fyi, DOT and NTSB have publicly stated that they are illegal and will prosecute not only vehicle drivers/owners of vehicles with them, but installers, and manufactures of the light kits them selfs... the fines are $6k per item, meaning $6k for the bulb(per light), $6k per the ballast(per light), $6k per the wire harness(per light) ect... and they will go after you, and the installer(if you that could mean those fines just jumped to $12k) and the manufacture of the kit. -now if you have done a proper retrofit using projector housings and cut offs then you should be good(as long as the projectors came from a vehicle that had them as OE. the good news is the fine is not to exceed $200k...

Those are some pretty hefty fines, I don't think the laws are the same here in Canada but thanks for the heads up. I don't really care much for them either anymore i just want my headlights (HID's or not) to turn off with the rest of the truck
