Water build up in my passenger side floor and behind passenger seat

hi,

as stated there is water build up in my passenger side floor and behind passenger seat (might just be moving back there) but i was checking all the drains they seem clear. I can't seem to find the A/C condenser drain pipe/tube that goes through the firewall. could someone tell me where its located possible post some pictures if its not a hassle?

the water also doesnt smell like coolant just musky so its not the heater core (i hope)

Thanks in advance!

Could also be the access hole in the fire wall. Pop the hood and you'll see a giant snake of wires in a rubber boot that enters the cab on the passenger side. If you've recently had a car wash or rain water can sneak through there. Not totally sure how to seal it but it might be worth a look.

Another spot I hear of is the inlet vent in the cowl under the windshield. Turn on the defrost and walk around the truck to that side and listen to the air being sucked in in that spot. Apparently something separates and can enter the cab.

I just know this because I get a wet spot under my passenger floor mat but is only rarely and I've had trouble tracking it down.

Have you been around a lot of dust or dirt lately? Once when I was camping, dust clogged up my condensation drain and caused water to back up on my passenger side floorboard. It was a lot of water. The drain tube can be found by removing the passenger side engine bay skirts. Facing the engine, you should see it on the left. Just find something that is flexible and small enough yet sturdy so it makes it's way pass the bend.

Regarding the potential of a leak from the rear heater, the moisture would contain anti-freeze.......it would be green (or whatever color anti-freeze you are using) and smell sweet. Condensation from AC or drain from sunroof should be relatively clear water.

Good Luck....

so pretty much narrowed it down... I turned on my heat full blast and cranked it didnt get hot. And underneath the carpet there was a rubber mating that i didnt see before and when i lifted it up it was soaked, it was where all the liquid was coming from and greenish in colour on the insulation but clear liquid came out when it squeezed the insulation

im going to say its a heater core clog/ or malfunction Anyone know any write ups on how to remove the dash and remove the heater core?

I also took compressed air to the a/c drain tube to be safe so ill give it a week before ripping out the heater core.

Thanks.

Did you tried it when the engine was hot? How is the coolant level in your radiator (Caution: open the radiator cap only when it is COLD)?

Heater core removal

so my heater temperature gauge cable was unhooked at the bottom of the dash... so that was the reason of having no heat. but the last owner might have unplugged it to stop coolant leaking into the cabin.

I guess i have to take the heater core out and examine it. unless by chance the heater link was disconnected by accident and the leak is whole different problem....

thoughts? A/c seems to be working and there flow out of the drain pipe.

there was a thunder storm and i parked outside and drove in it and no extra leakage. Im just frustrated it could be so many things....

All very plausible scenarios... but did you happen to look at the sheet metal around your windshield in that area? Any stains on your headliner? I had some mild rust bubbles around my windshield... and as a result, the windshield would leak. My passenger floor board was soaked with rain water....

Just another idea for you to ponder.....
