Fender Flares

so i'd like to get bigger fender flares (so i don't have to wash my runner whenever i go down a gravel road). Holy Crap 439$ from Summit!! and prices go UP from there!!!!

so i know i'm not the only guy suspicious of the unpainted price of Bush wackers....is their a less expensive solution out there? or should i buy some more car soap?

You could always cruise the junkyard for some limited flares or SR5 flares and attach them with 3M adhesive tape. I've seen people do this with reasonable success. Just have to check them once in a while to make sure they're still "stuck."

I actually have a full set of SR5 flares, but I'm too busy to deal with shipping :o

SR5 flares? do you mean the little chrome strip?

i have an SR5 with the little chrome "lips" that go over the wheel arches, but they are useless, and the left side is no longer attached.....

SR5 flares are black, not the chrome. I sold a limited flare set for $200!.

SR5 flares will bolt on to the existing inner splash guards, only the door piece has to glued on.

Meh, find someone to fab you a set on the cheap locally.
Or modify the ones you pull off a limited so they taper down so you don't have to add the retarded looking door flares.

Nope they are vehicle specific and all I had to do was just drill into the fender flare where the OEM holes are aswell there is this trim cover rubber thing ( which took the longest) and bam your done, simple for me to install mine prolly only took me about 1 1/2 hours

Sounds like this thread needs more pics lol. I'm going to be in the market myself so I'd love to see what you've done. Also j thought the sr5 flares were the ones in the previous pic with the chrome. Anyone have pics of the sr5 flares so I know what were talking about?

These are my old SR5 flares. They are a little beat up, and I'm really not interested in shipping them (if someone in the Denver area is interested, you're welcome to them for a case of beer). But the pic gives you an idea.

After thinking about it, though, I don't think the 3M adhesive method will work on these since they are hollow on the back. If you have the chrome trim pieces, you may be able to screw these on? Not really sure.
