3" Lift w/spacers & rear OME coils & Stock Shocks???
Is it possible to run the 3" Lift w/spacers & rear OME coils with stock shocks? Plan on purchasing when I can afford it. I don't off-road...rarely use the truck as it is...she's a project in the works. Will it be ok for daily driving...driving it maybe 2x every couple of weeks. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I wouldn't waste your money on a spacer lift man..... You can get a good set of used Tundra Struts, and some LC coils, with some shocks for a good deal.
I did my entire lift for under $500.00... It rides great, handles nice, and very affordable. It's great for daily driving duties, and will even tow well.
I'm currently running Landcruiser 8 wraps in the back, Skyjacker shocks (looking to replace with something slightly longer..), and the Tundra struts in the front.

It's front spacers and rear coils, will stock shocks be fine?

Maybe this one will be better, front and rear springs. Will I be able to run stock shocks with this set up?

I'd go with a tundra TRD strut assembly (can find them used) up front and Daystar spacer in the rear if you really want to save and won't be drooping the rear axle, but again, a longer shock would be best.

I've run the "Best Seller" setup. You CAN run it, with stock shocks.... but I'd be careful about doing any trail runs with it... as they will already be stretched out, by the lift when it's sitting on flat ground.
Honestly, after running the "Best Seller" setup, and then going to the Setup I currently have, I wish I would have done it in the first place.
I lucked out, and sold the some of the Toytec stuff, in order to recoup my money.... but not everyone is that lucky.
Take it from a fellow Ontarian.... you'll pay about the same for my current setup, as you will for the "Best Seller" setup, once it's shipped.
Ultimately, if you really want to do it on the cheap.... it will work. The front will ride really harsh.... and the back will be stiff as well.
When I did my current setup, it was a night and day difference.... and was happy that I spent so little for it!

I've never heard of anyone doing that with the front.... and the rear will be maxed out with 3" of lift. It's doable.... but again... you won't have much down travel left with those stockers.
Not to mention, unless you or the P.O changed those shocks.... you're running 14yr old shocks..... How many KM'S on that rig??
Again, you can run them in the back... I've done it with the OME 890's for a few months.... but got much better ride out of the Skyjackers I have... (eventhough those are still a little too short).

since you keep repeating the stock shocks question, yes you can run stock shocks with a lift. I have LC 8 wraps in the rear and it works just peachy. as far as saving money, lc coils and trd struts ran me 250 shipped. so far my lift cost about $ 400 after adding another small toytec top plate spacer to level and then get the whole thing aligned. It gets super pigeon toed up front. I ride with alot of dive tanks and a mommoth subwoofer in the back so The LC's are tamed down a bit.
So overall, pick up some lc coils off the classifieds, or piece everything together from a junkyard or car-parts.com. for the time being you can run the stock shocks no problem, but while your at the junkyard, youd may as well just pull the lc shocks so you can have everything.
After alignment and parts (assuming you do your own labor). you should be sitting pretty at around 400 for a properly done full suspension lift.
And remember, whether you choose spacers or struts up front, youre still gonna have to drop another hundo on the alignment.
Happy building!

I'm running a 1" Daystar spacer lift in the front and OME 891s in the rear, all stock shocks. I couldn't afford anything fancier at the time, though was saggy so went that route. The front end is feeling kinda rough now, and the rear seems like a brick, though when loaded acts really nicely.
I'm now running a custom plate bumper in the front with a winch and hi-lift mounted, and the front is beginning to sag and be a little too harsh so I'm going to upgrade the front to TRD coils and Bilstein 5100 front/rear as I heard that's a lot more comfortable. The rear got a custom plate bumper around the time I installed the OMEs.
It certainly works though, and I wouldn't call the ride bad or anything, and I use it as a daily driver and routinely drive 500 miles from Colorado to school in Utah. I've had the OMEs for 7 months, and the spacers for maybe a year. I originally had the rear lifted with Firestone leveling bags which worked pretty good and was cheap, though the springs started sagging after I had my 300lb jet ski sitting on the back for 6 months during school. I transferred the leveling bags to my OME 891s and they act as adjustable bump stops now.
