That's all it takes? Gosh, you should see my AEM FIC 6 patch harness:

Depends on what year truck you have. There are two types of ecus in these trucks, some use 4 plugs others use 5 I think depending on the year. That will determine which letter harness you need from urd

Got a question. I found a 1st gen SC and I been reading the installation instructions. They have a tranny cable with the throttle cable. My 01 doesn't have this. So can I go on without it.

For mine I chose to hardwire my piggyback into the ecu harness so no plug and play harness. I did this for cost and simplicity sake. I also dont see myself having the need to remove the piggyback anytime soon and if I did Id just solder the wires back together.
Being an 02 yours should have the 5 plug ecu which would need the type e harness from urd if Im not mistaken. Id double check that and maybe shoot urd an email they should be able to confirm that.

I have a 5-speed manual with just the SC installed (no 7th injector kit). Is there a recommended RPM range when cruising? Wondering if it’s better to stay on 4th at roughly 3500 rpm or shift to 5th when crushing on the freeway.

Supercharger has a bypass valve that is vacuum operated, meaning that during light and partial throttle the supercharger is not doing anything. So cruise as your normally would without a SC. If you need to pass or climb a hill, down shift rather that lug it in the 2-3000 rpm range.
If you kept it at 3500 your mpg would be atrocious.

Yes, there was two throttle cable brackets with the newer kids so just keep that second half of the plate empty since you have the older style. If for some reason the throttle cable doesn't line up or fit right you might have to source that newer bracket style. A few guys on here make them I think. But you're good to install it anyway.
P.S. your throttle cable is a failsafe anyway. Your 4Runner will drive with it not even hooked up since you have a 2001 with the electronic throttle.

I have a 2000 4Runner that I bought new and have had a TRD supercharger on it since one month after I got it. It has 270,000 miles on it. I have the same check engine light that has been causing a problem for 2 years. Neither the 2 local shops nor the Toyota dealer 60 miles away have a permanent fix for it. It has had a tune-up, new wires and a new fuel pump in the last 6 months. It was unused for four months last summer and ran terribly after that. I have been using fuel system cleaner or fuel injector cleaner in every tank of gas since September and it gradually got much better. Now after sitting for two weeks over Xmas, it is much worse again. The major symptom is stumbling as if it's not getting enough fuel or air. The dealer suggests it could now only be the supercharger or catalytic converter. I doubt the former because before Christmas at mid to high RPMs the supercharger power was great. I'm still looking for other ideas but think my next effort should be to replace the catalytic converter.

Don't throw parts at it, especially an expensive catalytic converter until you post up what the codes are. We can help diagnose some causes for you to narrow it down.
The supercharger itself shouldn't throw codes. It's just a housing with spinning rotors, none of that throws a code. Could be a loose hose or something, or maybe a critter got in somewhere it should not have. I just tore down an engine that had a mouse nest next tucked under the intake next to the fuel injector wires. Also helped a buddy find a severed injector wire that a rat decided to eat.

Unplug your TPS and see if it gets better.
Mine was doing the same thing a while ago.
TPS was intermittent no cel either.
Symptom was stumbling also.
Quick post that hopefully will help s/c owners; I've been on the hunt for a nose drive kit to refresh my supercharger/preventative maintenance. The original part (from the first post) is mostly NLA; or if you can find an online retailer it's going for $700+. For anyone looking for this at a more reasonable cost, I spoke to Magnuson who referred me to superchargersonline. As of Jan 2020, they sell:
Hope that helps others looking to refresh/maintain their S/C
PS shout out
@mtbtim
for such amazing and informative work - your video got me on the hunt to find the parts. Everyone needs to check it out (and the other stuff on their channel)!
Anyone know where I could find a pigtail for the TRD 7th? Looking to adapt the injector already installed to a URD FTC. Not sure where to find the harness I need.
