Oh gosh, the mythical TRD 7th injector. I've never seen one in person and the last one I saw for sale online went for over $1500. That's going to be a tough find... Even the install instructions for the TRD supercharger makes no mention of it anywhere. Got any friends or contacts at a Toyota dealership that could do some sleuthing?

Haha, the injector setup itself is great, but the computer they came with is leagues behind the URD setup, that's expected being 20 year old tech. No help on the Toyota end, it doesn't appear to be a denso style sensor like any OE Toyota of the same Era, I'll be messaging around injector specialists to try and I.D. the type of injector used.

Closest looking I could find is a Bosch EV1 style, fairly common aftermarket injector so for 4 bucks I went ahead and got a pigtail coming.

That's the bypass valve tube. At light throttle it bypasses the supercharger rotors and directs the air straight into the intake for better mileage. The first gens are pretty notorious for leaking there

Did a compression check this morning to see if I am safe to install the supercharger i have sitting on my workbench (plus URD 7th injector)

1: 180 (twice)
2: 198
3: 195
4: 195
5: 198
6: 195

my only concern is Cylinder 1 at 180psi.

is this a real concern? or am i OK to install a supercharger?

The FSM says to address cylinders with more than a 15 PSI difference. However, before you go and throw the supercharger in the trash and pay for an engine swap, that's the IDEAL PSI difference. Running boost on a cylinder with slightly lower PSI does not endanger the engine itself. It just makes less power in that cylinder.

I ran the supercharger with the 2.1" pulley at 11 PSI on a cylinder with 60 PSI. The piston rings were worn out and allowing air to slip past but there was no ill effect on the engine itself. It just made less power. Install with confidence.

If you aren't sure if you should, take a look at the video of my dyno run on the first page of my build thread: Jerod's Supercharged T[u]RD Build - Toyota 4Runner Forum - Largest 4Runner Forum. Sure doesn't sound like an issue to me!

You can also put a dab of oil in that cylinder and re-run the test to see if compression comes up. Will help point to why the difference, but I agree with gamefreakgc.

That's less than a 10% variation, which is ok for compression test results.

Hey guys,

Thank you for all the help over the past year with my junkyard supercharger project and rebuild.

The 4runner is moving on to a family member but I will be removing the supercharger. So now I need a bit more help with what is this thing worth?

Gen 1 supercharger - Fully rebuilt (All bearings, Gaskets, Coupler)
Dynamic tensioner
Every piece needed to install

Let me know guys.

You can soak the low cylinder with seafoam to see if compression goes up. Could be a stuck ring.

At best, $2500. I see good used ones going for around $2000 much more often though.

Hey guys! I have the Magnuson SC, URD 7th Injector and 2.2" pulley installed on my 2000 5-speed. I have been playing around with my tuning maps a bit and I am getting good results. I grabbed some data on the R4 software last night and I have some questions on some of the results...

The URD AIC is seeing max MAP pressure of 7.2 psi (I'm at 2880' in the miserable city of Midland). My boost gauge is showing closer to 9-10 psi. Is this similar to what you all are seeing with this pulley size? and why might there be this discrepancy in pressure readings?

Does anyone know what Injector B is referring to? Injector A should be the 7th injector, I believe...

Injector A showed max duty cycle of around 54% during my 1st-3rd gear pull. Is this the actual duty cycle or do I need to multiply it x2 like in the fuel map? I'm assuming that this is the actual value since I'd be shocked to be maxing out the extra injector...

Below is a data log from the pull.
