That's a Little convoluted....
The Champion over the OEM because it's cheaper (by 1/3 to 1/2 depending on where you look)
The Champion over the Denso (who makes the oem and a cheaper option) and Koyo because it's 100% aluminum, not a mixture of plastic and aluminum. This means less potential failure points such as gluing the plastic to the metal vs. the same metal all around that's welded, plastic that degrades with time and heat or is brittle in cold temps. Simply less points to fail.
The Champion is also 3-cores instead of 2 which results in more cooling.
Honestly, it's overkill for a stock daily driver. But it's also only $100 more, which is insignificant to a lot of people. I'm on the fence about it myself, though leaning that way because the extra money isn't a big deal for what you get.
Think of it as the difference between buying a discount tire brand vs a premium tire brand. They're both round, rubber, give you traction for acceleration, cornering and braking. The difference is in the performance at the extremes.
