Steering rack specialty socket

Is there a special socket used to remove the pinion gear from the steering rack? I have a brand new rack and a used rack and I need to swap the housing because I stripped the pressure line and cracked the housing. So Im taking the housing off the old rack and switching git for the new one. Looks like a "reverse" style socket. Been googlin it all day cant find any info

Oh man, Ive done this but I cant remember the name of the tool. I do remember I got it at home depot and it was supposed to be used to join 2 threaded rods together. I want to say it was 1/2 inch. Ill keep looking, but maybe that can get you started

Edit**** 5/8 inch threaded rod connector
