Do you have to get a dome light type mount? Or just hook wire directly to led bulb?

if I did this, i'd have to replace the carpet because I'd be able to see how dirty it is. The budget keeps expanding

The best way for me was tying into the factory domelight in the headliner. That way everything works like normal. When you open the door, they come on, when you switch the domelight on, they come on (helps when you drop something)

I have a 99 and it was the wire mentioned as above but I verified by looking up the door trigger wire in a car alarm manual...many of them tie into the door trigger for obvious reasons...just google your model and your favorite car alarm and check the manual
