My OME front strut bushings

I've had these on for just under 2 years and about 11,000 miles. Chris at ToyTec says OME likely will not warranty them due to the corrosion on the body of the shock and the chassis.

Anyone else's look like this? It's hard to tell from the pictures, but the top portion or the bushing is about gone. Not much rubber left between the bolt and body of the eye.

There is more to the bushing there than it looks like. There is still a good amount of rubber that is being covered by the shock tabs.

They look fine to me except they are obviously starting to dry rot a little. I wouldn't worry about it.

Almost. MI.

Trucks been in MI since it was new, and I am the second owner. The rust on the shocks is worse than the rust on the chassis. Doesn't say much for the finish on the OME shocks.

There really isn't. I couldn't get a good angle to show just how much the bushings have deformed.

Dry rot after 2 years compared to the rubber bushings that have been on it for 13 and show no dry rot.... In my opinion... Given the amount of stress the bushings are under, having to carry the weight of the front end... The rubber is a little soft. No way they should look like that after 2 years/11,000 miles.

And dont get me wrong.. Im not mad. Not upset.... The 90004 shocks are a little stiff so I am going to use the opportunity to switch the shocks over to Bilsteins.

Turns out the fault is mine. I sent OME the pictures and the tech said they failed because the bolt was tightened with the suspension hanging. This caused the bushing to preload itself between the inner and outer part of the bushing as vehicle weight and daily driving tore the bushing apart since it was preloaded.

They are going to send me new bushings, free.
