Question Key won't unlock door and trunk but starts ignition

I have a 2005 Toyota 4runner. The remote unlocks and locks the car. The physical key only starts the car but won't unlock or lock the door. When I insert the key into the lock, it turns but the doors don't unlock or lock. The key works very fine for the ignition. I realised this only after I bought the car used.
I have to use only the remote to gain entry to the car.

Or like mine someone replaced the ignition in the past and it now uses a different key than the doors. Maybe you are missing a key.

Yeah, maybe the 4runner was stolen and they replaced the ignition.

I doubt the issue is it being a valet key. Valet key should open the doors. Try it in the glovebox. Just for fun, try it in the liftgate. If it turns in both doors and ignition, then no cylinders were swapped. I'm going with a bad key switch in the door or a busted wire, maybe from a slim jim on a lockout or a window glass repair.
