Driver/Passenger seat swap...

I'm not having much luck finding any threads regarding a seat swap. Does anyone know if this is possible? It's a 98 SR5 with manual controls only. I would prefer to swap just the bottoms so i can keep the lumber on the driver side but if they need to be swapped together thats fine too. I just have to do something with the driver seat because it is toasted after 260,000 miles...

THANKS!

What exactly are you asking to be possible or not?
Cloth to leather swap?
Cloth to Cloth swap?
Manual to Automatic seat swap?

There are people on here with Infiniti seats in their 4Runners. Much is possible with a little modification. But all 4Runner interiors are fully swappable, within their close year range.

If you are referring to whether the seat bottoms can be swapped, I would like to know the answer to this question too. My bottom seat bolster (part that faces the driver door) has a split. If you could swap the seat bottoms (passenger <-> driver), the center console would cover the split up.

I just put Corbeau seats in mine. If interested check through my build for details on how. Good luck.

I swapped the seat bottoms on mine. Easy as pie. Take the seats out of the truck. Remove the plastic side pieces on the bottom. Remove 4 bolts that hold the bottom to the frame.

I switched my bottoms also. I even put lumbar in the passenger side since i had them apart by removing the frame from my old drivers seat and putting it in the new passenger seat . Now all i need is some lumbar switches that don't have broken mounting tabs.

Yes, you can easily swap them. I went the junk yard route and swapped a 1998 passenger bottom foam and back foam for my 2002 driver seat. It was easy to do. The hardest part was finding hog rings that were not too big. The hog rings hold the cover down on the frame.

Thanks all. Was very simple to do and now I have a way more comfortable seat! While I had the seats out I even did some bargain repair of the driver seat bottom with some spray foam and gorilla tape and it actually turned out half decent. The foam is a little too firm but after being cut and sanded down it looks darn close to original shape. Now I just need to get some covers... Any recommendations? I know everyone gives high marks to wet okole but I'm trying to keep it looking as close to original as possible with some pleather. Anyone ever used gt covers? This is what I have in mind Seat Covers for All Car and Truck Makes and Models - Exact Fit Seat Covers from GT Covers.

You want #2 shoat rings, not hog rings. (Shoats are baby hogs.)

I swapped my seat bottoms. Super easy even with power seats. Pull em out and you will see.

Actually, I tried to swap but I couldn't because of the seatbelt sensor.

Seat belt sensor

Anyone know more about this seat belt sensor and how to get around it?

Shouldn't the sensor just unplug? I did mine last year and it was really easy. It took longer to pull the seats than actually swap them out.
