I believe the seat mount is welded into place.

I believe this is correct. I saw a thread on here where a guy cut the piece out and welded in a custom piece in order to fit seats from a different vehicle. You may find it if you search something like "custom seat mounting", etc. Wish I could be more help.

I'm sure it's a dealer (special order likely) item since it's spot welded in. The big question is what's wrong with it? Why are you replacing it?

I cut the center section out of mine to fit a, um, box, under the seat. It probably provides some structural support but it's probably not necessary to hold the car together (provided you still have enough to hold the seat down).

thank you all, mine is rusted out and I either need to bolt through the floor or try to get a replacement piece, now the front bolts don't really bolt through anything, my seat rocks and if I hit the gas too hard I feel like I'm going to flop over backwards. I tried putting a washer behind the left side, it held for a while until the rust caught up to where the bolt was, then the right side let go and now it's more a carnival ride then regular front seats.
