slight lift?

I have a stock 2wd v6 auto that is my DD. I would like to give it between 1 to 2" of lift yet keep a decent comfortable ride.
curious if factory 4wd springs would provide that bit of lift? if not I'm open to suggestions and any info I can get.

thanks

Get a set of bilstein 5100's. set it to .85 or 1.75b sand that will level out your truck. Little more lift go with the 2.5 setting and a 1.5 spacer in the back. nice and mild...

ran across a set of spacers front and rear for like $150. seeing how I have no plans for any off-roading beyond a dirt road would spacers be such a bad thing?

would the recommended set of Bilsteins to provide the lift entail the shocks early wear due to the support they are providing?

How many miles are on your 4Runner? If you have a lot of miles on it you might be better off to get some 99 4wd springs. They are the tallest of the OEM springs. If your factory springs are still in good shape you can get by with a spacer lift. It's not the preferred method but a lot of people do it. My previous runner was a 99 4wd and I went with Tacoma 5100s in the front and a Daystar 1.5" spacer in the back. It rode okay but was still a little too soft for my liking. I love my current setup on my 97 2wd. Specs are in my signature. By the way, what part of Alabama are you from?

thanks for the info. I'm in Huntsville.

ride has 137,000 miles. still decent but I know the shocks are needing replaced. I'm sort of leaning towards new shocks and doing a small spacer lift. no question not the preferred but with what my plans are and not seeing life beyond a dirt road I figure that would be ok.

body lift?

At least consider a body lift-4crawler.com is a provider that has all the issues figured out.

It may give you the look you seek at a lot less cost. And you can do the body mounts at the same time for a bit better ride.

Opinions vary-so always of course research many threads to decide what you want to spend your $$ on
