Getting tires put on today. Anyone tried the Goodyear Wrangler Authority?

So I bought the tires already and went with 265/75r16's for my 1997 4runner. I read through hundreds of reviews and think I'll be happy with the decision.

I'm yet to go pick my vehicle up, and am just wondering if any of you guys have had these tires and what your experience was.

Thanks a lot!

Yea I did on my Tacoma. I loved them. On road/offroad they were great. A ran over a bag of empty beer bottles on a county road and they sliced into the tread and never once leaked air. Self cleaned well in mud, road traction was good, noise level was low Ect.

Overall just a great tire. Hell, I might buy another set!

Glad to hear you had a good experience! I just drove home with them.

I got up to 75 on the hwy and I was pleasantly surprised with the road noise, as I was expecting it to be much worse. I live in MN and am hoping for snow soon to test them out!

I had a set of these on a 99 ZR2 Blazer (31/10.50/15) and loved them! Great in the snow and wear like steel. I will go with these on my 4runner when it needs new shoes.

Isn't the size you bought a little bigger than OEM? I'd heard that Walmart would not mount larger tires. I need new tires before the snow flies. In VA it usually melts the same day though . Pictures?

Yes! I wanted as big a tire I could get without rubbing. Stupid wal mart wouldn't install them because they were non-factory, so I bought them over the counter and had a different local place install them. I honestly felt kind of relieved because I really don't trust the people at Wal-Mart... I'll get some pics up!

I'm running them in 31x10.50R15 right now and like them. They are good in snow and pull through a lot of stuff. My only complaint is the tire isn't as big as advertised since Walmart doesn't follow the same specifications as Wrangler since it's a Walmart knock off essentially, so my 31" tires are actually only 29" in diameter. Otherwise, it's a good tire and great for the price!

It's a shame that they don't make them in bigger sizes. IIRC, I think that the biggest 16" tire they offer is a 265/75/16.

I had them on my 99 for one month before I totaled it. I really liked them. They made a little noise on the road but it wasn't enough to be annoying. They also rode very well. I really liked the looks. The sidewall is like the Duratrac except the lugs on the side aren't as thick.

Sad face for your pic. I looked at these tires when I was shopping. I see no reason not to get them. They're cheaper Duratrac knock-offs. The only thing I recall from a previous thread is being that they're made for sale only at the wall-mart, Their actual material make up may be less quality from Goodyear hence allowing the lower retail price. After all, that's what the wall-mart does. That's really the only reason I steered away from them. I chose between Duratracs, Nitto terra grapplers and ol' faithful BFG AT's. they were all the same price (about $205 ea). I really don't see any reason why they wouldn't work, though -
