Possibly Purchasing a 98 - Need Opinions

Hey -

First time post as I am considering purchasing a 1998 SR5, 4WD, manual 4Runner. Currently I have a 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser, but see this as an opportunity to get into something a little newer with better gas mileage. This vehicle would see daily driver duty around town with a pretty short commute as well as camping/dirt road action on the weekends. I love my 80 series cruiser, but getting into something a little more 'road friendly' with better mileage has me wondering if I should get into a 4Runner as I always have loved them.

This one was posted for sale on our local classifieds where I live and I'm thinking of picking it up. I'm going to look at it tonight. Any thing I should specifically look for? They are asking $5,400...does that seem about right price-wise? Here are the details that I know from the ad. From speaking with the current owners, it sounds like they are the 2nd owner and it has been very well maintained. Thanks for reading and if you have any thoughts, let me know. Thanks, Matt

1998 Toyota 4 Runner: This a great vehicle - runs
perfect and has been fully maintained. Tires have
plenty of life left, new stereo with auxiliary and USB
ports installed last year, winter Husky mats. All
major maintenance has been completed - new
timing belt and water pump, shocks, etc.

-177,XXX miles
-5 speed manual
-V6 engine
-Current on all maintenance
-4 wheel drive
-SR5 package
-Sun Roof
-Towing package

If you want to shoot me the VIN and an email address I'll run a carfax for you.

What I see as most important is to look for rust. I would look at the rear axle and the inside of the frame near the muffler and gas tank.
