Factory Rake

Hey guys. This is my first 4runner but not 4wds. I have a history with Heeps and old classic Broncos.

I just put replacement springs under the rear of my 2001 4wd sr5. The rear is now 1 - 1 1/2" taller than the front. Is this normal for these trucks or are my fronts bad too? I just bought the truck and the tires were feathered, I'm guessing from the bad rear springs. The front seems solid but I have no idea. Also what is the stick measurement for the front suspension fender lip to center of axle?
Thanks
JT

I've replaced the front on my 02 and gained noticable ride height. My rear needs new coils and looks like I'm hauling a load of bricks.

I would look at replacing the front and getting an alignment.

There should be some rake, but I think 1 1/2" is a bit much for "factory".

Thanks for the quick responses. Looks like I'll be putting in new shocks and struts. I'll post pics when I get suspension in and the new wheels and tires on.

Checking in. What should be the factory distance from the front bumps top and the metal? This should tell me if and how much sag I have.
Thanks
Jon

That can vary alot. Best way to check height is to measure from the center of the hub straight up to the edge of the fender. Stock measurements are 20 inchs in the front and 20.5 in the rear.

the OP has a 2001, a low-rider. so if the OP used stock 2001 coil springs, then the measurement should be 19" up front and 19.5" at the back
