Steering wheel options?

Hey guys anyone replaced the steering wheel. I wonder if the corolla or a sportier 3 spoke wheel would fit with factory airbag??

Any pictures?

I asked this question a week ago with no response. There are some older threads here but with no exact answer for the 4runner and most the people say no. There maybe issues with that airbag not being designed for the 4runner or maybe not trigger at the correct time but some people argue that should be decided by the airbag module and not the airbag.

There are 2 guys on the customtaco forums that have done it. One of them has a picture posted but I could not find what year tacoma he had. The other guy hasnt been signed into his for months so I cant get any answers from him either.

Now from my research " I MAY NOT BE CORRECT" a 98-00 rav4 airbag may connect to the 96- early 98 4runner clock springs and those airbags will fit 98+ supra, 03-05 corolla,00-05 celica, 99+ trd ect steering wheels. The picture I found of the tacoma the guy was using a celica wheel and a rav4 airbag and he says it connects right up you just have to you use your cruise control switch.

Its very common for the sc300/400 guys to use the is300 and celica steering wheels. I havent read all of the threads on club lexus so dont quote me exact but there are differences with the airbags but a single and double depedning on the year type airbag which you can get a wire connector to make the double into a single from toyota. I believe the 98-00 rav4 airbag is a single type like the 3rd gen 4runners.

But I ordered a mint is300 steering wheel from ebay last week and it should be here in 2 more days. I will just need to find a rav4 airbag locally and I will have a definite answer by the end of next week

Will the toyota 2001 Celica steering wheel fit tacoma???? - CustomTacos.com Forum

is300 steering wheel upgrade.. - Page 6 - Club Lexus Forums

That steering wheel is from a rx300 which is the only tan 3 spoke, there is also one that has wood grain.

Sweet i actually like the corolla wheel better than the lexus. The lexus wheel is starting to look dated also.

I'd wrap the corolla wheel in perforated leather though.

^^that rx300 wheel is different from the is300.. The corolla, is300, celica, trd, supra are basically the same minus the trim and material used. Ive owned 2 is300s in the past and came a across a wheel on ebay for $30 plus shipping. I dont like the airbag for the is300, the rav4 I think better matches the 4runner interior.

I love it when packages come early =)

One scratch on it but the guy had bad pictures so I guess that is why know one else placed a bid.

My wife had a is also. I liked the wheel. Minus the button for shifters in the rear also. BuT maybe you can wire them for volume control or other assesories.

Not sure if you guys are hell bent on swapping out of other toyota vehicles or just wanting to upgrade as our steering wheels get to looking like crap after a number of years. There is a place in dallas I think that will redo your wheel in any color leather new padding and options for stitching etc....last time i checked i think it was like $400 or so. Kind of pricey but for a new custom look that you know bolts up....not terrible.

Just did this yesterday very straight forward. Everything plugs right in only thing that was different was the cruise control wire pin out. I dont use cruise control so didn't waste time on re pinning them into correct slots in harness plug.
