Need some guidance- leak at hatchback?

I am finding a wet carpet after a good rain in the cargo area. It seems like it originates from the passenger side, rear corner and then wicks toward the middle. The left side is dry. Have any of you had any issues with leaks from the hatchback?

Thought I would just go ahead and replace the seal for starters. Part number for that? Vendor? Thanks for any guidance.

Two cents

I'd encourage you to take a look at the hinge bolts on the passenger side when you lift up the hatch. I had the exact same issue a few months back and it was a result of not tightening one of the two or loosening after putting on the SURF hatch (see build thread if you're wondering). It was raining hard and I saw water dripping through and onto the mat. When I pulled over I lifted the hatch and saw where the water was entering. You'll have to remove the light cover and the plastic overhead piece but it's a piece of cake. I'm certain this is what you're experiencing. Cheers and let me know.

I had a leak in the same general area, turned out it was leaking from the roof rack bolts. I removed the screws securing the track to the roof, (t-25 i think) applied silocone and replaced the screws. Hasnt leaked since. If you have a roof rack i would check there as well.

It's the tailgate that I picked up while in Japan; the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) tailgate. See:http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-ge...lazarus-3.html and go to page three. Was just a straight bolt up. You make any progress?? Cheers!

I finally got around to checking the roof rack bolts. Turns out that the right rear bolt was not screwed down all the way. The rest were fine. I will see if that was the issue. I had the roof painted a while ago, and the rack was removed. Hmmmm.
