Lift Details
Alright...I'm 16 and i can't leave my 96 t4r stock. I've had for a couple months now and i want to lift it. I have access to everything i need to install the cornfed 2 in. lift. although my dad lifted solid axle chevys back in the day he's a little aprehensive bout independent susp lifts. how hard is it and what all do i need to lengthen (pitman arm, shift lever etc.) i know a pretty good bit but i need a few more details so i figured i'd ask the seasoned vets of 4runner mods thanks for all the help................

if its a 2in suspension lift, chances are youll have to modify/extend nothing else.
just look at the angles on your cvs and make sure theyre not too extreme. if they are, then youll need a diff drop.

With a 2" you won't need to do anything. You COULD get a diff drop but put the lift on first and check your CV angles, if they look pretty severe or the folds are touching or close to touching, get a diff drop.

same difference as far as what youd need to do.
if you go to 3" a diff drop is very much recommended.

Do some research on the fabtechs b/c I remember reading a post on another board where these were supposedly really bad. On the other hand, Donahoes and Camburg coilovers have gotten really good feedback.

Coilovers and spacers are 2 completely different things. Spacers are basically a cheap way to fit tires and not having to put on a body lift.
Coilovers will give an excellent ride and is really the optimal choice, other than the Tundra lift...I have the Tundra lift and I love it, rides perfect, wheels like a champ.
IMO anyway.

Spacers are cheaper. They are a piece of something (metal, plastic, etc.) that sit in your front strut between the spring and shock. This stiffens up your suspension quite a bit. You can get a whole kit to lift your truck (front and rear) for about $300.
The coilover is a complete replacement of your stock strut and is engineered to ride better on and off the road. These are more expensive ranging from $600 to $1000 for the fronts. You won't have coilovers in the rear as the setup is different than the front. In the rears, you can run a spacer, taller spring and shock or some kind of similar combo for additional cost.

You know, did you really feel a difference with that? I have been looking into and everyone I know/talk to just laughs and says its all bling. I can't seem to convince them otherwise...
