rear Superflex springs
Anybody run on these super flex springs? I am looking for the 3 inch lift with 400 lb extra weight.
I got 2 inch front suspension and 99 tall springs in the rear. It is currently level but with rear cargo... it sags really bad.
ToyTec Superflex Rear Coils (96-02 4Runner)
Any pros and cons?
Thanks

ummm. yeah, Tons of people here are.
Including me.
dont bother searching, i did it for you. it was the 1st one that came up when i typed in super flex.
ToyTec Superflex Rear Coils
here is my review on them for you.
i love them. its about 3.5" lift over stock. this is with about 100 lbs of subs in the back.

As for weight, this was about 250 lbs of tong weight from the trailer resting on the ball, then about another 300-400 lbs of stuff in the back, i think it sagged about 1.5-2"

Dont waste your time and money on Superflex coils if you are planning on running 400lbs of extra weight. Been there, done that. The spring rate is just too low for carrying weight.

Air bags would be better with OME Heavy duty springs. would you agree?

Probably, or just run the ome 861. Air bags arent the ideal setup for a flexy suspension. Lots of people on here running 861s with fullsize 33-35 spares, rear plate bumpers and a shit ton of cargo gear. No complaining from anyone that i have seen. They are as long as the superflex also so there is no worries about them falling out under full droop.

To be fair that extra weight is only on trips correct?
99% of the time you won't have the weight. Yes?

Him saying he wants "3 inch lift with 400lbs of cargo" gave me the impression he would be hauling that weight daily. That is a very good question though and one that will dictate what he needs.

LOL, yeah they can. If you arent running limit straps or if your shocks are too long. They aren't held in by anything but tension, some vehicles have tabs and clips that hold the coil in place during serious articulation. Not fun or safe to have it pop out on a steep hill!
Here are some examples.

FYI, with no weight, other than the stock rear bumper and spare tire in the original location, I got 4" lift with these springs. When I load up the Runner with tools, recovery gear and camping gear for 2 for a week, I still find that the springs are slightly too stiff. But only slightly.

Never heard anyone describe the superflex as stiff. Just goes to show that everything is preference.
OP, you need to spend some time reading the link that Mime posted, all pertinent information is in there regarding my experience along with others who have ran them against other coils.

Extended bump stops would be a solution. That's how Toyota designed them to work. Sonoran steel made me a custom pair for my rear. They were made with really good quality.

Back when no one had heard of OME, I bought leafs for my Cruiser from them. They were supposed to be rated to hold and extra 400KG, not pounds. Well when I installed them they put the rear of my truck up about 4" higher in the rear than the front and my driveshaft wouldn't reach, safely.
So basically I was an idgit!

Bump stops don't limit down travel. That cone that comes stock inside the coil will fall out with the spring under full axle droop.
