So I got my truck back 2 days ago because the body shop gave my estimate to the insurance company and stated that my front lower cross member was bent. I picked it up Monday at 10am and drove it back home because I told the insurance company I’m not giving my truck to them. I grab my creeper and slide under the truck. Looking for damage on the cross member and I see nothing. I call the body shop and ask them if he had taken pictures of the damage and he sends me 3 pictures. Can any of you 4runner people tell me where in the pictures do you see the damages on the front lower cross member?
Well USAA just gave me the ok that my truck is not going to be a total loss and that they will fix my truck. Apparently they were going on the vin number for the value of my truck. The USAA guy asked me if I had receipts of all my purchases toward the truck to up the value of my truck. I had receipts from 2014-2020. I have almost 150 of them that I sent to the USAA agent.
I did some maintenance today on my truck and my wife’s truck. Changed the oil on mines and it was a nightmare. Titus-Will Toyota changed it last and it was tight. I mean i had to use a ajustable pliers and it didn’t work. Finally i just used my punch and it came loose with 2 slight turns. I’m never letting Toyota do my oil change ever again.
Made a bracket and extension for my rack today. The brackets will be used when I have my tent on and can put an extension bar on the front of the rack to carry kayaks or anything. The H blocks are made of 6061 aluminum and the bar is made of 7075 aluminum.
So I moved my tire carrier to the R side instead of the middle because I’m jumping from
A 33” tire to 37”. Looks much better to me and it should of been like that from the beginning.
