spark plug change and cleaning. now nothing but problems. need help

Went over to a buddys house to change spark plugs and wires. While in there clean maf and throttle body. Everything went well. Turned it on. Exhaust spit some stuff out ect. Then when warmed up the rig would idle around 2000 rpm. We could not find anything wrong but read the iac sensor below the trottle body might have been gunked up during the cleaning.
By this time it was midnight so drove home. After the 25 mi drive rig would still idle at 1500 or 2000 rpm.

Next morning I un plugged the battery and the fuse to reset the computer. Came home and tested again but nothing changed. I took apart everything again. Disconnected the TB from the engine but left those two coolant lines in. Cleaned it again and reconfigured it to close all the way. I also sprayed so TB cleaner down in that hole that leads to the iac sensor. Put everything back together. I still have a high idle but now the rig seems like it is starving for air. When I first turn it on it stsrts at the normsl idle but thrn gets lowerand lower until it about dies. Both times I have hit the throttle I little and thst helps but it just goes bsck to the higher idle! When test driving rig sounds great when at the higher rpm. If I coast in first or second truck jumps likeit wants to stay at a higher rpm. When it let it idle and check the exhaust I hear a minor put put sound.

Nkw for the part that worries me. Engine mames a different sound like something is scraping. I can hear it expecally when I turn off the rig. For that last teo seconds of running the sound really comes to life.

Sorry about spelling or if something does not make sense. Typeing on a tablet and feel like im losing my mind over this 4runner.

might break down and bring it to a mechanic as the engine is 150 mi away from 200k and I dont want to f it up..

Have you gone through to check all of your connections on your vacuum hoses?

Possibly a hose pulled off your pvc valve (or similar) which can cause some high idling and odd running.

As for engine scraping noises, you might be hearing pulleys, pulley bearings or belt sounds. Pop the hood and see if you can trace the sound. That said, changing plugs and cleaning up the MAF doesn't reasonably add the possibility of the problems you're describing.

Although, you did get the wires back on in the correct order, right? It's always a good practice to change those one at a time so that the correct firing order is retained.

Take a deep breath, calm down, don't expect the worse case scenario, and remember KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid). I have to remind myself of that all tge time while I'm working on problems. I tend to overthink and create problems that don't really exist.

You sir deserve an internet hug. That hose was off! Scraping sound gone and engine much more stable ( no putt putt). Thank you very much. Drove it around the block and idle at 1500 rpm warmed up.

If in in gear at about 20-30 mph and I let out the clutch diengaging the engine from load my rpms fluctuate very rapidly between 1000 and 1500 rpm. Will come to a rest at 1500 rpm. If I get im idle to sit at 1000 rpm it will climb back up to 1500 gradually. It did this the first time my friend I testing it out. Just thought I would put this info in that I left out.

thanks for all the help thus far.
