Can the Chrome Sr5 Bumpers be painted?

I just picked up a sr5 and was wondering the chrome bumers could be painted without to much hassle? Or what would be the best way to go?

Yes they can be painted. Use the search at the top of the page. There are a bunch of threads on this topic.

I've painted one in the past that turned out pretty good. I had access to a sand blaster though, and that made quick work of it. If you thinking about doing it, I would definitely try to remove all of the chrome plating on the bumper. Once you've done that it's just like painting anything else.

They make some products specifically for spraying over chrome, though it may not be what you're looking for.

Dupli-Color :: Shadow

Theres a 3rd gen featured on their site for using it

Best method to paint a bumper? (you might be doing it wrong)

Only thing you should do different than me is remove the whole bumper. Its easy.

I changed it to "bumper"

After someone mentioned it... couldn't help but notice it.

"I 'bumbed' into my friend last week at the store."

"I don't like the speed bumbs in this shopping center."

"Ma bumbed me in the head when i growed up"

The easiest thing to do is plasti-dip it. If you don't like it just peel it off.
