I can't imagine it to be impossible, however what I would do if you're worried about rust is drill out the threads and put in a stainless rivnut and use those instead

I done all the above. What I mostly do is just clean the threads with a tap and use stainless bolts with antiseize on them. If the threads are too far gone. I will retap the next size up and use stainless with antiseize. If you don't have antiseize use multi purpose grease.

I had to drill out and retap the broken bolts. It’s near the beginning of my build and repair thread.

I used stainless Allen heads.

You should look at the Phillips screws that hold your license plate illumination lights.
