99 T4R. A modest daily driver build

Decided to start a build thread for my t4r to track the progress I make on it as I tend to forget stuff I did

Overall this will be my daily driver so I cant get too crazy with it, but I've said that before lol.

Specs-
99 SR5 2wd auto
188k

airraid intake
tb spacer
sequoia wheels with 275/70/17 bfg all terrains
TRD exhaust

I just purchased it on 4/16/14. Since i've owned it ive done the following:

-oil change with rotella 15/40(love this oil, use it in everything)
-coolant flush with with toyota red coolant
-valves covers were leaking fairly bad, turns out all the bolts were just extremely loose. Tightened them all up and no more leaks.

Just ordered a b&m trans cooler to prevent the possibility of milkshaking

I also ordered a denso radiator as the current one was a bit crusty looking on the inside. Seeing as I live in AZ and the summer is right around the corner it was cheap insurance

I also ordered a factory roof rack with the cross bars that will be here next week. Afterwards I will be installing a cargo basket and fairing.

Short term plans:
-1" coil spacers up front to give me 2" of lift up front. Currently the front sits about 1 1/4" below the rear so I am hoping to achieve just a slight reverse rake.

-Either a fabbed front bumper or a push bar with some fogs
-Hood is sun faded so getting that painted is a must
-efan
-magnaflow muffler

Other than that I plan on getting as much preventative maintenance done as possible before it gets to be 120 degrees out

Looks awesome man! A cheap consideration; black plastidip the chrome bumpers? I think it would look sweet, matching the wheel you have that look great!

gonna pick up a few cans on monday and do the rear bumper

I was skeptical at first on how it would look, but I really like it. In my opinion it looks a bit more rugged than the chrome. Plus I am not a big fan of chrome in the first place.

Since this is a DD i'd keep away from a new bumper like a bar/plate bumper. You'll lose MPGs for sure with how heavy some of those can be. That is a CLEAN runner though. I'm jealous. And I've got a 5 speed well maintained..

Looking good! I definitely like the black better than the chrome.

What is that thing just below your factory radio?

Very nice, let me know how the plastidip holds up to chips, etc. I've been thinking of doing the same. Also, I may have a basket I could sell or trade you. My runner is lifted and won't fit in the garage with basket installed the way it should be. I'm in Chandler. Ever head out towards lower sycamore and want some company let me know. I'm def a beginner at 4 wheeling and would love some tips

Thanks guys

And that is a DVD player, it has tvs in the headrests(not my doing, but my son approves)

The truck overall is quite clean. It has some scrapes and bruises but I actually prefer it that way. If it was mint I would be scared to do anything to it.

I have had plastidip on a few cars so far, it holds up well. And if it does get messed up you can literally just spray over the messed up areas.

Got some goodies in the mail today.
B&M trans cooler
Denso radiator

Will most likely get these in next weekend and eliminate the possibility of ever getting milkshake.

Also picked up a factory roof rack and got that installed.

Been running very well the past week and I'm loving it

Got a rack on her yesterday and getting the new rad/cooler in here soon. Gonna be moving here in the next couple weeks and I am going to be loading her up and putting some miles on her so I want to make sure that's all situated.

I am really wanting a small lift up front, around 1-2" so I am planning an attack on that soon as well. Just want to make sure it's done right the first time, but to be honest it will be 95% for cosmetics.

So I have been mainly just driving the t4r without any hiccups.

I decided to do the new radiator and trans cooler last weekend and it came out nice, it was really easy and straight forward.

I finally got around to plastidipping the rear bumper and I also did the side mirrors. The clear coat was pretty bad on them so they look much nicer now.

Today I had some time so I decided to shampoo the carpet. I was really surprised at how dirty and stained they were. I wont bore you with the before pictures but here is the after, they look a lot better in person.

I have been wanting to try out the app torque pro so I ordered a bluetooth obd2 scan tool and got Torque Pro setup on an old deactivated Note 2.
I was unsure on how I wanted to mount the phone but I decided to modify the old sirius mount to work on my phone case. Took some modifying but it came out perfect.

And last but not least I ordered some Tundra Bilstein 5100s for the front. Hoping to raise the front up about 1.5"-2" Hoping to get these on tomorrow morning.

I am also going to start ordering all the stuff to do the valve covers along with all the other maintenance items that I'll have to remove. wires, plugs, pcv etc

On a side note I love this 4runner, it is definitely my favorite vehicle I have owned.
