Knightrider's Build "ol bessie"

Hey guys,

I finally have some time to begin this thread and formally introduce myself. I have been a member on her for quite some time now (few yrs) but just have had too much going on with thin the past few years to formally introduce myself and contribute a lil to this great ass forum. I am also a loyal forum member on the Phoenix Gold (ol school great car audio) Phorum webite too.

Anyways a little about myself.

My real name is Jason, I go by "J" or Knightrider (bike riding alias) or "Big D*$#" at work due to my position as what all my plant and supervisor employees call me. Anyways......

Im 33 and I live with my GF in Winchester, Va. I grew up in tidewater, Va (Newport News, Hampton, Norfolk, Va Beach). I own a 98 T4R SR5, 06 T4R Sport, and a 07 Honda CBR 600RR. I love all 3 of my cars but my pride and joy is my 3rd gen.....Bessie. She has over 263K miles and still purrs like a kitten.

So story of where I was w her and where I am now.

I bought her back in 2005 with 150K on her for about $8K. I fell in love with her instantly before I knew how really good T4R's are. I knew they were good but not as much as I do now. She was a complete stock SR5 model with one owner.

In the first year I did all the needed PM and an aftermarket stereo upgrade along with a complete interior gut and installed dynomat for sound deadening. I strongly suggest everyone do this for a few reasons. Improves stereo quality, quiets outside road noise, and makes them feel more solid driving.

Then 2 years ago in 2012 she needed serious tune up work and a new set of rear shocks. Well I didn't have time nor a garage to properly do everything. So I parked her behind my shed and bought a V8 2006 4th gen model. Got it for a steal.

Fast forward to this past feb. I moved to a new house with a two car garage and had some serious funds and time to rejuvenate Bessie to her great ol glory.

So since feb here are my mods and maintenance work I have completed and next is a planned list of the very near future.

Since Feb I have completed the following.

1998 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4x4, 3.4 DOHC V6, 4.10 front and rear gearing, 4 speed auto

*painted front grill & rear hatch emblems black
*new valve cover gasket set
*pcv valve
*Clay bar treatment to entire body including with the entire stock rack off
*full wax treatment also

Have but not installed
*new tranny stock filter
*new B&M tranny cooler
*new magnefine tranny filter
*new front, rear, diff & transfer case oil

Wish/To Do
*Tundra 231mm caliper upgrade

*Toyotec adjustable fronts and rears
*TRD S/C
*rear E-Locker

That was a nice clean up. I would recommend that you switch back to the factory intake. Those gauze filters let in a lot of dirt compared to paper and dyno tests yield no power gains.
