MillerPKA Build Thread #2
Follow along on Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/millerpka
I'm just going to leave this right here..
This is my new 2000 4Runner SR5. Black/tan. 115k miles. 4x4. E-locker. Sunroof.
The first phase of this build is very clear: to make it identical to my last one. This time without trial and error or irreversible mistakes (read: rhino lining my rocker panels). Suspension will likely be an upgrade from the last setup, but on the outside I plan on this thing looking like its twin in every aspect.
Phase two will be picking up right where I left off on the first one. The plan right now is to redo the interior. Black headliner, doors, dash and carpet. Seats will be upholstered with a saddle brown/burnt orange leather as well as the inserts/armrests on the doors. I never gave the first truck's interior the treatment it deserved, and with a main goal of having a show-worthy truck, this is really how I've dreamed of having the interior.
Buckle in, this build is going places.

Welcome back! If your last build is any indication of the direction this will go, I'm excited to see it.

That thing sure has a long ways to go to meet the expectations you set with the previous one.

Can't wait to watch this build. What's the list of parts you already have on order?

Nothing is ordered right now but I have a master list I'm working off of right now. Just figuring out which order of purchasing is best, given my budget.

Just because I have a clear plan on where this is going doesn't mean I don't want to enjoy it in the meantime. We're blacking it out for starters, including f&r bumpers, flares, grille and license plate surround. Worst part about this truck is the tacoma wheels, and I just can't convince myself to purchase 5 stars in the meantime so we're just painting them gunmetal just so I can bear to look at them. If anyone in SD/OC/LA has a pair of 5 stars burning a hole in their garage I'll be glad to make a deal, but for now I'd like every penny I invest to go towards the bottom line, not something to keep me happy in the interim.
As soon as I brought her home the wrap up began. I plan to be done this afternoon and will post up the results.
Getting prepped and primered
Front ready to go black
Worked on this thing straight into midnight. Scat Adams, who used to have the lifted pearl, is back in the Subaru world but is going to be tag teaming this build with me much like the last one.
Now I'm heading back up to finish the pieces, clear coat and unwrap this sucker. Feels good getting back in the rhythm..hope to get this build going quickly for everyone's sake.
