Really liking the front bumper. Looks super clean with all of the angles. I'll be waiting for those pictures of it finished!

havent updated the thread for a while. ive chopped the bumper mounts and made tacoma style mounts, widened the middle part of the bumper and chopped off the sides of it and also chopped off the bull bar. ill be putting the bull bar back on but im looking for some tube at least 3/16" and 2" square. a jackass moved forward after we had all pulled over on the trail stalled and rolled back into me, and didnt pay for my headlight he crushed. i swapped the lens in less than an hour. my rear upper bushing makeshift finally failed, so i pushed the rubber out of a lower arm bushing and pushed it into the upper slot. I retrofitted corolla leds into my dads 5th gen.
i think thats everything.

It's a little off topic, but could you post some pictures of that chair?

I bolted the seat to a thick wood board, then bolted the board to the wheel chair bottom. maybe ill make it a tutorial for those of us who have seat swapped.

Hey
@ D Farms
First of all, I love the build. It looks great!
Did you install those yellow "running lights" during your headlight retrofit? I've been thinking about doing some wiring to have more control over my headlights. DRL might be more "safe" but I have never liked them. I want to do something similar to what you have done. I want the option of turning on my parking lights if I want heightened visibility.
Secondly, all of us are DIYers on here, but every once in a while I finish a project and I think, "that was such a PITA! I should have paid someone else to do that . . ." Do you feel a sense of achievement after finishing your bumper or was it a "shoulda got an ARB" moment?
... judging by your rear bumper build in progress I think I know the answer to the question, but I wanted to get your thoughts. thanks

Thanks!
I did the led lights recently, they arent bright enough on the amber setting during the day to be used as drls, the white setting is noticable. as far as my bumper, there were a few criteria that i went for while building it: excellent protection, good approach angle and looks that match my 4runner, pretty much none of the bumpers on the market were what i wanted, espescially not the arb which is made to crunch. plus it cost me significantly less than what an arb is. the bumper build was not a pain at all, putting in poly bushings in the steering rack without the right tools is a pain.

Oh, that is disappointing. The amber looks really cool! I've always loved the '12 Tacoma headlights and the parking lights look awesome to me. I'm thinking about a way to add some ambers bright enough to increase visibility during the day and in dusk/daybreak driving. Without looking like an ebay shopping cart, of course.
What level of skill do you need with a welder to do what you did with your bumper?
Here is a pic of a 2012 Tacoma headlight for your reference.
