Tire Size

Im trying to figure out how big of a tire and how wide of a tire I can run on a base model 98 4runner at stock height with stick rims? Any information is appreciated and thank you in advance.

265/75/16 - front might rub rarely but it'll be fine. I used this size on my 4runner. Front rubbed twice in 7 years.

265/80/15 are just about the same size as 265/75/16. Here's a good link to keep.

So you have 15" x 6" wheels. That narrow wheel is a limiting factor.

A 31x10.50R15 is about the same width and diameter of the P265/70R16 size, which came on many 3rd gen 4Runners. But the 31x10.50R15 size tire should be used on a minimum 7" wide wheel.

A 30x9.50R15 would fit your wheels,
