Told him if he got straight A's....
Looked for 6 months for a 4runner with a good frame and that was well taken care of for my soon to be 16 year old. Found this one, while actually looking at another one...1999, 174k, one owner since 2000, this thing is mint, I actually do not know if anyone ever sat in the back seat - and I'm not kidding.
Looking forward to reading about modifications and some tinkering we will almost certianly get in to.

New To Me 1997 Limited
Picked this up a little over 2 weeks ago. My F-150 was giving me troubles and I leave me stranded so I spent the last 4 months looking for a decent deal on a 3rd gen 4runner. Only a couple of small downsides to it, such as being 2wd and some issues with the paint. For the right amount of money the first part can be fixed, and I really don't care that much about what the paint looks like. But I got a steal of a deal on it and the dealership gave me money back on my trade in, so I'm happy.
No major mods yet. Only things that have been done are a radio replacement and adding an aftermarket set of cupholders. Currently trying to do all of the maintenance that the last owner failed to do on it. Needs new U-joints, front rotors are warped, leaks oil (still haven't figured out where yet). So mods will be on the back end of things.
Only small one I am considering doing currently is changing out the grill to the 99+ style, and potentially the bumper if I can find one in decent condition. Big fan of the fat lip style personally.

long time lurker, r3v member but also have an '01 SR5 as my daily / camping trip / family hauler... putting my badges back on as the PO took them off, wondering if the 2001 sport edition had "sport edition" badging on the doors? mine has the hood scoop and the cartoony fenders on it. great rig but just want to get it back to stock.
less attached to the door badging than i was to the 4runner and SR5 ones on the back.

Only 2002 Sport Editions had that door badge.

Thanks much for the quick response, looks like I’m done sweating badge placement!
Back in the saddle, 111k miles and just did the oil last weekend, not as easy as my m42
