2001 4runner warranty and vsc/trac trac off prob (i know this might have been asked)

I hope im not making anyone mad if this has been asked before. I have been searching and seen answers from various ppl. My problem is Im kinda tight on money and im not sure if the standard warranty is 3 years 36000 miles or 6 years 100k. I bought it used at a dealership that also gave me a 30 day unlimited mile warranty so i might go through them except its a honda dealership.

I havent exactly checked my gas cap but i dont think its the problem since i didnt get gas right before the lights came on. Also another issue. When starting my car a belt squeeks (i think) and when i start with the low end torque it also starts to squeek some until i give it some more power.

BTW this is a 2001 4runner sr5 sport edition

thanks for any help that yall can give me.. Much appreciated

thank you!

not sure on the warranty, but you cna go to autozone to get the code pulled on your check engine light. post that code here and we can tell you what it is thats wrong.

as far as the belt is concerned, you can buy belt dressing and spray the belts down to quiet them down, but that wont fix the fact that you need to change one or more belts.

SR5

This happened to my rig about 10,000 miles ago. I have a Certified Pre-Owned 2001 SR5 with a current 80,700k on the odometer. I went to the dealer, and it was not covered under warranty. Pretty much everything else was, but not this. It turns out it was a bad MAF sensor. I forked over close to $300 for the repair. That same day, I also had a full brake service done. In under 1000 miles, the brakes went bad. To make a long story short, I was refunded all my money, including the MAF job...so needless to say, it was all FREE. But yes, to answer your question, that series of lights is 99.9% the MAF. Go get the code read at your local parts store and it will tell you.

Good luck!

The standard warranty on the 2001 was a general 3 years or 36,000 miles and a 5 year or 60,000 miles warranty on the powertrain.
