2000 silver highlander 4wd 5 speed

I just picked up a silver 2000 highlander 4wd 5sp a few days ago. My friend told me this 4r is rare. Is that true? He said, 2000 was the only year you can get a silver highlander because it is the only year toyota made highlander in silver. And 2000 was the last yr for 5sp manual. Plus it is 4x4.

No e locker. I bought some take off 17 FJ wheel/tires. The old tires are worn out. It came with 5 spoke 16 wheels.

Was going to go off road with it but maybe I should just drive it on the street.

To me that looks like a Sport not a Highlander. I think the Highlander came with black SR5 type flares and an elocker. Does yours have an elocker? If so, there should be a button to the left of the steering column that reads "RR DIFF LOCK" in orange letters. Regardless, any 5 speed 3rd gen is relatively rare. Anyone, please correct me if I am incorrect.

I'm thinking it's a sport also but it's a good looking truck regardless.

i looked for your truck.
i was willing to pay several extra k, and fly down to LA to buy one... the one i wanted sold to the first caller before me, just hours before i called. the other the dealer was kinda douchie.

damn i wanted a 5spd.

nice truck.

mine '00 is an sr5 and has the black fender flares, i too think yours, with the hood scoop, is a sport.

nice truck. congrats

We drive ours on both. Sure they get a little banged up and pinstriped, but that's okay. We clean them up and go to work the next day. That's why we have them.
Start out on easy wide stuff if you're worried about the pretty but still want to hit the dirt, off-road doesn't have to mean difficult or damage.

The 99 Highlanders have the medium sized black flares, the 2000 has the wider painted Limited style flares.

The 00 model year, body colored bumpers, hood scoop all ID it as a Highlander package car. SP option package with no locker, SX with.

Manual trans are rare in 3rd gens, and seem to get even more rare as the model years marched on, 00 being the last one with that option.

I had to look for about 4 months to find my '99 Highlander 5-spd e-locker. Had to drive a couple of states away to get it, but it was in immaculate condition and nicely prices.

Pretty rare, 5-speed with a locker would be the rarest. Travelled 4,000 miles round trip for mine!

Got mine at a used car lot 5 miles away, they were practically begging me to take it....lol. They sold ten autos while this one sat on the block for 7months.
Of course I didn't even know it was a highlander till I joined this site, I just wanted 5-speed and e-locker,

I don't think the silver Sports/Highlanders are all that rare, but the 5spd's are. I'd say the consensus to the rarest combo is a 5spd Highlander 4x4 with a factory rear locker. Think that was only in '99.

Mine also had the running board delete option (or were the running boards the option that was just on almost all of them?). You can tell from the unmarked painted captive bolts underneath that it never had them, it had the front mud flaps instead.

Talk about rare. I've been trying to find a set of those damn mudflaps forever. Almost paid like $300 for a full set of trim that included those flaps, but realized that was a bit excessive.

I got a copy of a 2000 High Lander factory sticker off the internet.

I think running boards was an option $649.
