It cant be repaired I need new mount. My mechanic told me that its been welded very poorly before(which is obvious if you look at it below where the pic was taken) and that the heat from the first attempted fix weakened the metal and caused the crack.

So I was hoping that im not the first one this happened to and that someone made aftermarket mounts that could just be welded on.

My mechanic is a fabricator as well and quoted me $500 cash to remove the diff, cut off old mount, fabricate new mount and weld on and reinstall the diff.

EDIT: I have a buddy with a welder that would cut off and weld new mount on for free, so was hoping to go that route.

So I take it from the high amount of views and no responses with links to parts that im going to be stuck having someone fabricate a mount....

Also I took this thing wheeling on the weekend before finding out about this, with it cracked all the way through on 2 of the three sides, and metal was weakened from previous hack job to weld previous crack on mount. So even with only 33% of the steel left and it being weakened it still held up, guess these Toyotas are tougher than I gave them credit for.

Pretty sure no one makes a replacement. Find a good 4x4 shop and have them make a new mount.

I have come to the same conclusion after calling every local offroad and 4x4 shop I can think of over the last few hours.

Would have to order the whole differential, they do not sell just the mounts, as from the factory they only come welded to the diff.

Is this on the diff or body side? Its a bit of work, but not really hard to remove an axle yourself. The quote that was given to you doesn't seem that far off. The actual welding job would cost maybe $100. You're paying for the labour of RE&RE.

I can almost guarantee there's no aftermarket for this, as there's no need....besides you :P

Not a complicated piece. Your best bet is custom welded. Also be careful welding on the axle housing as too much heat can warp it. Your welder should know that though

Its the diff side.

I wish I had space and time to re & re the diff myself but I do not.

My mechanic is starting on in the morning.

It's not like the mount was heat treated, just weld it back together. You don't have to fabricate a new one, bend it back and weld where it broke. If you want to get fancy then weld reinforcement over it. It should cost $20 if you paid someone.

I think there must be a reason this has broken twice on your truck. When I read the title I assumed it was the frame side and assumed it was rust that killed it. Something seems off.

My ol lady is out and about with my 'Runner right now but I'll look at it when she returns and check it out and do some measuring. I'm willing to bet RuffStuff Specialties has something that'd work out to replace it and substantially beef it up. They always seem to have what you need. Even if it's not used for the advertised purpose lol. Check em out

I agree, this is why my mechanic/fabricator is going to make a stronger replacement mount, and check things out while he is doing it to make sure nothing is wrong with the rear suspension.
