How to ship an OE bumper?

I am eagerly awaiting a new AOR plate bumper and need to send my stock bumper to a member up in nocal. I'm having a heck of a time finding a box for it and was wondering if I could just wrap it in a blanket and tape it up real good and slap a shipping label on it for UPS or FX? Anyone done this or have any bright ideas that won't break the bank.

Just cut up a box and wrap pieces of cardboard around it using tape. It doesn't have to be perfect, I received a bumper like that once and it was fine.

@BlazeRunner

Do you happen to know who the carrier was? I just went to the UPS Store and they said it would be $300+ because it has to ship freight since it's oversized.

@gshadow325

Does Greyhound really do this instead of using one of the big carriers?

Its only going from LA to SF so $300+ for shipping would be a deal-killer.

I'm bummed because I spent 2 hours and 2 rolls of packing tape already..

Yes, go Greyhound. Just pack it like you want it to arrive in the same condition it left in.

Thanks. I just checked the Greyhound website and looks like it can be done for about $100 - waaay cheaper than UPS for this type of service.
