Finally picked up a 3rd gen!

Not totally new, I previously had a second gen w/head gasket issues, got rid of that and picked up a 99 SR5 4wd/auto with 226k on the clock. It's been well maintained and drives very well, purrs like a kitten, very clean inside and out, everything works as it should, ice cold a/c, all stock minus a jvc double din receiver and aftermarket wheels...I gave $2800 for it, how'd I do?

I've always loved the 3rd gens, just the sheer amount of them still on the road 12-18 years since they were built can vouch for their reliability. I really like this thing, it's so versatile, great styling, still built on a truck frame unlike most of these newer sport utility "vans" these days. Dare I say best suv ever? And the back window goes down...

$2800..... I hate you

Well done and congratulations....you made the right choice!

Now get that tool box open and start a build thread, I neglected to start until I had pretty much rebuilt my drivetrain (long time lurker) and I think it is why I cannot get anyone on to my thread. Welcome and best of luck!

Good idea..I need to brush up on picture sharing/image hosting

Not planning on a serious rock crawler lol, more of a capable truck that's still daily driver material, I've got a nice start, it's got factory tall 99 coils and no saggy butt, nice aluminum/black wheels...tires aren't bad, but I've been looking for a set of used 265/75 all terrains and I'm really considering a tundra brake upgrade, still amazed at how small the pads are on a 4000lb truck

Tundra brake upgrade is my next mod as well. It is highly commended.

I just drove a buddy's 2002 with them and I have to say, what a difference. You will not regret it.
