Ladies and Gentlemen I need your help.
I have recently discovered this community during my search for a new off road vehicle. And quickly realized I have come to the right place. Today, during my daily Craigslist searches I stumbled upon:
2000 Toyota 4Runner 4x4 Limited w/Supercharger.
After immediately diving into all of the wonderful information you all have provided I think I may have found something really special here. There are some key pieces of information missing about this truck though. I was just wondering if any of you could offer your incite upon this matter.
Thank you for your time
p.s. extremely excited. D

Try and curb the excitement, there is some due diligence to be done.
The supercharger did not come factory, it was installed at dealer.
If it was salvaged in a rear end accident...likely it had some frame damage.
Supercharger worth $4k is a joke, what a dumbass.
6.5k is rich for a salvage unit, blown or not.

In my region they would not write a 4runner off for that body damage...I know that..check my thread..
It may have never had frame damage but in my humble opinion that listing price is a joke.

The price was my first immediate concern. I have yet to look at the vehicle due to it being in a different state. If there is any frame damage the price needs to be halved at least.

welcome idaho friend. pass on it. although its SC'ed its super steep price. its more of a 2K truck. and at that price i would take the SCr and part out the rest of the truck. i know lots of people who would like parts from that thing including me.

If it had frame damage the price is irrelevant....because you will do the prudent thing, since you are an intelligent person, and continue the search for the right 4runner. Best of luck, friend

Good option this dude has suggested!
Although if you are time poor or or space constrained it may be beat to simply pass. The right 4runner is out there buddy

Superchargers were a dime a dozen at one point, I had a chance to buy a box of em for 1000 dollars came with 8 supercharge off of 3rd Gen ... I know this guy who owns a Toyota Junk yard in my area and he took them off cause when he rebuilt T4R nobody liked the sound of a sc. If I knew there was a demand for them sure would of been a good investment. That price is a bite over the top.

Don't. I live In bend. Yes frame is straight but guys a joke. Keep looking. In bend it is really worth 4k. Not the 6500. I paid 6800 for a straight 97 that was perfect with perfect maintenance records. Not this pile

Allegedly... The current owner bought the vehicle with the salvaged title. The owner before the current had also purchased the vehicle with the salvaged title. The current owner.... Allegedly... had it inspected by a reputable mechanic in their local area (Who I will be calling tomorrow for conformation) who claimed " everything checks out. they couldn’t find any frame damage, no sign of flood damage, nothing. It looked as though maybe it had been in a wreck from behind and maybe the body repairs were never finished." If I could get the price dropped considerably (3-4k) would it be even worth the gas to drive and get.

This is what jumped out at me. Salvage title should mean cheap, not expensive.

Just the fact the salvage is on the title regardless of condition really screws the deal... Insurance company typically won't touch it and well most ppl would turn there nose up at it idk heck if your walking then heck go for it.

Most likely totaled because the damage to the quarter panel, that truck wouldn't be worth 6500 with a bad title even if everything had already been fixed, he'd be lucky to get 2500 As-is IMO.
