"Play" in throttle body valve thing.

How much play is normal in the throttle body.
For example, the part the throttle cable pulls on doesn't engage the "flap" on the inside until half way. Consequently, the throttle "flap" never goes past half way open.

This is the point this part engages the throttle body "flap"

And this is far open as the "flap" goes.

For comparison, this is all the way open

If you have an 01 or 02, it's normal. Those two years introduced a drive by wire throttle as part of the vsc/trac electronica thing they did. Threw me for a loop too when i got my 01.

What he said. The cable linkage is just a 'limp home' that comes into play only if the servo fails, and will only give you partial throttle.
