Replacing 3rd Gen Glove Box Latch with Older Model

My truck currently has a velcro strap keeping the glove box closed, something the PO did. I'm looking at replacements on ebay, but I don't know if it's possible to get a replacement latch re-keyed for my key.

Anyway, I noticed there are some latches from older Toyota trucks that look very similar dimensionally, but are one piece without the lock section. The mechanisms seems very similar as do the screw holes. Does anyone have both versions that they could measure and compare to see if an older latch would work?
