Arrow Ect pwr???

OK so I have a few questions about the ECT button I know what it does but will increase gas mileage or decrease it. I live in a mountain environment. Also does it do anything to leave it on full time is it bad to do that?

It just raises the shift points of the transmission. Whether your MPG will improve or not, has more to do with your general driving habits and the conditions the vehicle is operated in, then if the engine revs a bit higher before shifting to the next gear.

You could spend a month driving without it turned on, and then a month with it turned on (assuming you drive generally the same for both test periods) and decide for yourself.

Finally, you can leave it turned on indefinitely, and it won't hurt anything.

I left it off for quite awhile but I prefer it on so that's how it stays now.

If you are in the mountains you will probably get a bit better gas mileage with it on.

I mainly use it to pass someone on the highway when I need a faster shift, then I turn it off.

I just use it while playing in the dunes here in Socal and on larger hills when I need the extra boost. It really works
