Replacing steering rack bushings

Currently trying to replace the steering rack bushings but I'm stuck. I removed all the nuts and bolts holding the steering rack in place, but for the life of me, I can't get the steering rack out far enough to removing the driver side bushings. Any clue what's going on?

You've done these nuts/bolts? The bolt on the driver's side has been pulled out as far as the cross member (I used a screw driver to tap it out towards the front of the truck)?

After those all that's holding the rack in place is the ps lines and the steering shaft, none of which you should have to mess with- there should be play enough.

Did you unfasten the outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle? The driver side needs to be undone. Passenger side can stay bolted on.

No, you don't have to undo any tie rod ends - at least I did not.

I did put the front end on jackstands so the tires could pivot as I worked on the rack bushings.

Jackstand and tie rod. Those really made it easy for me.
