Thank you sir for the complement!! A Buddy of mine helped me paint it. Taping off and painting the "racing stripe" was not fun...but well worth the aggregation!

Right now the scoop just allows air into the engine bay; however, I'm working on a fiberglass scoop that will channel the air over to the air box!! I'm "borrowing" my design from an aftermarket hoods I saw!! I'm hoping to get that done this winter.

That looks sharp! I'm thinking about doing something similar to what you did by using the creases (and the area between) on the hood for another color on my 4Runner. I found another photo of your Runner and posted it here.

Here's my 02 Sport Edition in Sunfire Red. I know I know the snow covers part of the scoop but I love the look of my 4R in the snow.




When I scored my 4R just over 2 years ago, I didn't know it was a Sport Edition. I was looking to move on from the 94 Wrangler I used as a daily driver for the past 17-18 years and had narrowed my search down to a 4 Runner or a Tacoma crew cab with the TRD package. My 4 Runner was for sale at a local Toyota dealership as a low mileage (84000 miles in 2012) truck that had just had the water pump and timing belt replaced. I ran over on a Saturday afternoon to check it out and was pleasantly surprised to find out that it was a Sport Edition with the hood scoop.

What's funny is that we have 4 vehicles in my household and 3 out of the 4 have hood scoops. My 4R, my wife's 05 Outback XT, and my 72 Camaro all have hood scoops. My 94 Wrangler is the only one with a flat hood.

Yes, the hood scoops on the TDI Hilux Surfs allow air to cool the intercooler.

Just gave mine a polish and wax, so I figured I'd throw a couple pics in here. It has the hoodscoop inlay painted silver as well.. Very close to adding an OME lift... just cant decide which one.

My friends girlfriend has a white 4Runner like mine and hers has the the hood scoop. I asked my friend to tell her to switch my hood for hers but, he says she doesn't want to.
