What Tire for My Situation Thread

With countless threads on "what size for this lift", I haven't seen or can't recall a thread about what tire is best for how one uses their 4Runner. So, hopefully this one can be useful.

I have been reading as much as I can on all the different tires available so I can make a decent decision on what may be best for me. I need some advice.

I daily drive mine, and will possibly see offroad a few times a year.
Daily use consists of about 15 miles a day on county roads with curves and hills. Maybe once a month or so I will be on the interstate doing 75mph. Snow and ice a few times a year that doesn't amount to much.
Offroad consists of mud, rocks, and water.

I need a tire that will clear mud, perform great on the road with rain and snow, net decent mileage, and have a smooth ride.
I currently have duratracs, love them for the 10k they have seen. I just worry about the side wall strength when offroad. Otherwise, it would be a no brainer and I would purchase them again. I am upgrading to 33's.

Currently I am looking at the following:
Goodyear MT/R with Kevlar: worried about longevity and noise, highly recommended in my area for a dual purpose tire.
Hankook Dynapro RT03: people recommend siping for wet roads and ice
Cooper STT: Not enough info found to help with decision
Duratrac: Worried about sidewall strength
BFG TA KO: Offroaders in this area say they aren't great offroad

So, any recommendations? Also, feel free to post what you use and your situations the rig sees. This thread may be really helpful to others. P.S. I don't care how cool and aggressive the tire looks. They are all black, round and hold air. I want function, performance, longevity.

Given those qualifiers, it sounds like the perfect tires for you would be another set of duratracs in a higher load range.

How much more harsh is the ride? Is it enough to make one hate E loads in a 4runner?
I know D load is available. Would those be enough to rid my woes of sidewall puncture?

If you can afford them, get the BFG KO. They are the best tire ever for a mix of on and off road. They last between 80 and 90 thousand miles if you rotate them regularly. Me and my dad have had at least 5 or 6 sets. I really enjoy my skinny 235/85s.

I just picked up some Michelin X LT2 which has been the best because the rides is smooth... I've had Nexens for the longest and I just got tired of replacing tires every 2 years

@SilverRidgeRunner1 Can you please delete the picture. Also, that tire has nothing to do with my needs listed above.

Mud seems to be the main thing in this area. I hate it also

Why? What experience do you have with them? What are you putting them through?

It's just an option. They are heavy and not as good on ice/snow as DuraTracs but better in the Mud that we have here on the east coast.

It sounds like we have very similar tire requirements. I started a similar thread a short while back. It was geared toward 35" tires, but also centered around staying away from E load range tires.

I got some good advice, and it might be helpful to you too.

Need Input on Choosing 315/75R16 Tires

FWIW, I still haven't made a final decision on which tires to get yet.

Thanks @Bandit Runner . That does help some. Seems like my list above has a couple that everyone recommend, and my needs are very similar to yours.
