P0440: Fuel Cut Off Valve Issue
So I had the P0440 code come up on my new to me 2002 SR5 4Runner after two weeks. The code wasn't accompanied with any other, so I did some research, and a lot of people recommended a new gas cap. Unfortunately, that wasn't my issue and the light came back on ten days later.
I took it in for a smoke test and they noticed a small leak at the top of the tank. They seemed to think it was the fuel cutoff valve, but said they couldn't tell completely without lowering the tank. They went ahead and ordered the new valve at 45$.
Any of you guys had similar issues? If so, how much would you expect the cost for labor? Any other maintenance worth having them do while the tank is down? I bought the truck with 180k miles and don't have a real idea about what has been checked or done to the vehicle for the last 7 years or so.
