Multiple misfire on cylinder 1-3

I had a 320+ mile trip this holiday and unfortunately got check engine, after performing diagnostic I found misfire on Cylinder 1,2,3 and a system too lean error on my obd scanner.

Can anyone give me an advice on this issue before I do anything?i just cleared the error on the scanner and so far it's not indicating anything as of right now.

It's a 1997 4Runner.

Thanks guys.

Do a compression and leakdown test before you start replacing parts

Three injectors failing at the same time on different sides of the motor is unlikely. Possible, but not likely. The cheapest thing you start with is a compression/leak down test like mentioned if you have the equipment. It will give you a good starting point.

This is the diagnostic from DashCommand app

I will have to locate a service provider for that compression/leak down test

Compression test, like mentioned before. You could also check fuel pressure. Stop throwing parts at it until you know what is wrong.

Seriously not really sure why you are throwing parts at the problem. I mean why post a question on the internet if you aren't going to utilize the advice.

What are the odds that 3 plugs all went bad at the same moment? Sure it COULD happen (under the anything is possible rule) but its pretty unlikely.

Trust us - got to a mechanic and get a test done. Have him write down the #s for each CYL and you can post them here.

head gasket or something could be failing. That is why they keep repeating themselves. Could be something electric because it is happening on both heads. I think 1,2,3 is not all one head, anyway. Bad coil would be something like #2 and #6 misfiring at the same time. Good luck.

Compression tester like $35 on amazon. I have used mine a bunch.
