Question Parking brake lever doesn't click/lock

Ok I've tried searching and I'm not finding and answer.

My parking brake was seized, so I loosened up the bell cranks (with a hammer haha) and now I can pull the lever and feel the brakes grab, but the lever doesn't click/lock into place. Also the button at the front of the lever that's supposed to release the clicking/locking mechanism is super sticky, so i'll have to dive into that soon as well.

This is great for snow drifting, but not great for literally anything else.

Where does the clicking come from? Is it in the center console? or under the truck?
